Why would somebody create a program designed specifically to complicate a simple existing solution? Why would CFAI use this horrendous software?
Simple: PDF with password protection and unique identifiers for each user
Complicated: Unusuable bulky software designed to inflict headaches and keyboard smashing by anyone who attempts to use it.
And anyway, who in the workd is trying to steal this material, that hasnt already registered for the exam (and been forced to buy it) anyway? Is there really a black market for 600 pages on portfolio management that Vitalsource alone is thwarting? Give me a fucking break, CFAI. Is there any doubt at this point that CFAI are just evil sadists? I mean, making the test difficult and the pass rate low is mean but necessary. This is just unecessary.
If anyone has found a way to just print end of reading questions that takes less than fifty straight hours and six red bulls, please, PLEASE let me know. I am not interested in pirated material or obtaining anything illegally. I just want to skip around and print certain sections of the electronic version of the book that I purchased.
 
Email CFAI. A lot of people (including myself) loathe the VitalSource software. Another complaint should help our cause.
If it’s any help, login into Vitalsource’s website, access your books online and try printing directly from their website. Use the print button towards the bottom-right corner. It’s a lot quicker this way. Even then, there’s a frecking ugly header at the top, constantly reminding you how much you paid for this crappy experience.
I think this has less to do with the CFAI, and more to do with VitalSource’s monopoly and lack of better providers.
 
it’s terrible, it’s the only reason I buy the printed versions in the first place. Just ignore it and use one of the prep providers like Schweser or Elan anyway.
 
I bought both the printed and the electronic version…it’s only 30 dollars extra, so i thought it’s definitely worth it.
Contrary to other people’s experience, i quite like the software, it’s made my reading a lot easier and the fact that i can highlight and make note as i read is something i consider fantastic.
 
Ah shaikksssss. I bought combo in L1 and found the books were too heavy (FRA book fell on my face when i fell asleep and instantly awoke me with headache lol). So i used ebook in L1 except for eoc and summary, where printed came in handy. That, and the fact custom in my country love slapping extorbitant import tax, i decided to order ebook only for L2. If it turns out i cant print the eoc, i am so dooomed
 
I have the same feeling as you, so i ordered only printed version in L2.
Vitalsource SUCKS.
 
With a page limit per print and bad formatting. And good luck trying to print summaries, questions, or anything else that would require you to skip around and print certain parts. Will take you forever.
 
I hate VitalSource. It’s the most stupid piece of SW I’ve ever seen. It’s so slow and retarded.
Screw it, I ordered the printed version. Let’s all sign a petition so that CFAI will stop using it or something.
 
I hate VitalSource.
But, anyway, you can print the book. There is an export feature in both desktop and on-line versions.
I’m in for the petition!

yes white boy. if you are going to post stuff like this make sure your profile on AF cannot be traced to your account with the CFAI. There seem to be ppl from that org prowling around forums like AF to fish unsuspecting peeps that ‘violate’ some stuff ( exam disclosure,discussion,free stuff on the internet,blablabla)
