What do you think is raw scores needed to pass for CAIA Level 2 historically?
I saw a post a while ago that posted a 65 out of 130 points. But that seems exceedingly low. I’m wondering if anyone else wants to offer an estimate.

I got that part, but I am curious about the essay portion only being 30% of the total score.
Unlike the CFA website, the CAIA site seems to keep scores up forever. I passed L2 last year with the following breakdown:
Commodities Between 50 and 75%
Current and Integrated Topics Between 50 and 75%
Hedge Funds Greater than 75%
Managed Futures Between 50 and 75%
Professional Standards and Ethics Greater than 75%
Real Estate Between 50 and 75%
Venture Capital and Private Equity Greater than 75%
Essays Between 50 and 75%
My rough guess is that my score was in the mid-to-high 60s. Much lower than 65% might be pushing it but there seems to be no specific guideance.

Can anyone point me to where the CAIA says this?
The reason I care is that while I feel somewhat confident about the MC questions I’m worried about the essays. Since they will only cover a small amount of material it is the luck of the draw. I know with my luck they will all be on something that I’m not too prepared on.
In their September guide, it mentions the 30% allocated to essays. http://caia.org/caia-program/curriculum
ATH is the only one that provided a guess for what a passing percentage might be. We are generally aware of the initial pass of 70%, I’m curious if anyone has any data on the curve if any on this exam.
It feels like the essays can easily be <50 depending on the topics you get. Since that is worth such a huge percentage of the exam, a pass or fail can be dependent on it.
