What is the one topic you hope is not on the exam?

Constructing option strategies (complicated) with a bunch of calls/puts and then having to calc max payoff etc….

- Calculating the effective loan EAR on options
- Deferred tax capital gains formula
- Hedge funds
- GIPS (That would be an early Xmas present)
- Managed futures
- Performance attribution (fixed income)

This.. I mess those questions up every time.
Also i wouldnt mind conceptual questions about all of those option strategies like butterfly spreads but quantative questions would be annoying.
Currency Swaps suck too.

To be honest, all the topics are on par, it’s how they test you for it.
They can make a VAR calculation brutal if they wanted to.
But yea, please no taxes, gifts or ******** bequests.

does anyone have any tips to try to memorize all those tax formulas?
Beside the obvious intutive ones and acrual annual after tax rate, my mind blanks on them?

Try as I may, I NEVER get it right.
Currency swaps are time consuming to get the flow chart right, but not too bad usually.

Swaps and swaptions.
I did an IS question today. Amazingly reached the correct answer, although my calculations were completely different than the answer key.

- Managed futures
- Prospect theory
-Bailard,Bhiel and Kaiser Five way model ( straight arrow / adventurer etc..)
-Morning question on the IPS of a Bank (I did not put as much time as for pension/endowmet or insurances)
-GIPS on morning ( it would be ok for PM)

Contender for worst scenario.

Factor Covariance matrix stuff. SS7 R15
Mij=bi1bj1Var(F1)+bi2bj2Var(F2)+(bi1bj2+bi2bj1)Cov(F1,F2)
Mii=b2i1Var(F1)+b2i2Var(F2)+2bi1bi2Cov(F1,F2)+Var(εi)
