Anyone have any ideas? Especially those that post and discuss, more so than the lurkers....Maybe Joey knows? I know it will be skewwed b/c the ones that don't pass don't necessarily report back, but just wondered...

Anybodies guess. I really hope you pass though Amber. You've been a trooper.

In those last weeks leading up to the exam, when we were grinding it, I felt like I was spinning my wheels when all I could eek out was a 64% on the practice tests. Anyhow, your words helped me get through. Also, I just particularly felt like we were in the same boat and it was comforting knowing someone else was going through the same thing with me.

So anyways, I guess thats my long, and drawn out, way of saying thanks.

You're pregnant Gouman?!!? :P

Glad I could help! I know you will pass!

It seems like 90% when I checked the thread from Dec. Tons of passes and only a handful of fails.

Plenty of surprises like, "WTF, I can't believe I passed!!!"

If I pass I think I will break down into tears, regain my compsure, and head to the nearest pub for some pints :)

You all have to remember, most of us reviewed hardcore for 1+ months out, we used study notes, CFAI exams, learned through discussion, etc.

Girl next to me at the exam finished the CFAI curriculm a week before and spent minimal time going though the books' questions. Plenty of candidates do not drill and practice as hard as we all did.

I totally agree. If you don't finish with the readings at least 3-4 weeks before the exam, to leave you plenty of time to repeat and go over the more sensitive topics, the chances of passing it are slim. And even with more than 1 month to go, you rest assured you'll get some "closest to" payback period question to throw you down the drain.

Second timers, were you on here pounding it out like you were in May, back in November before the Dec. test?

I was not. I barely had acted before the exam. Was busy finishing the readings:)

Yeah, this is so true. I feel like anyone taking the time to post on this website 50 times must have a 90% chance of passing

It's not exactly true, but it's not LoLworthy either. The pass rate here is really high for people with > 50 posts. Last December, of everyone who posted their scores on LI > 70% passed. Obviously, there were some people who disappeared but nearly everyone with 50 or more posts leading into that exam posted their scores.

Gosh I hope that theory holds...i just checked my posts.

I was LoLing at the sarcasm... not the idea of AFists flunking
I've got enough posts to fall in that category, 700+ hours of studying at home, in trains, hotel rooms and waiting halls... i have done my time. I hope for the sun to shine...

not to mention you've helped me quite a few times as well...

700 hours! Thats like 4 hrs a day every day for 6 months...is that even humanly possible?

oh yeah, being an Indian .. you should know better mate ;-) , i know folks that put in *quality* 900hrs in 70 odd days [for other exams & Iv never checked their veracity]

as for me:

8+ hours a day for 75 days
~3 hours, 5 days a week for like 3 mths.. (more if you consider 2007, when the exams got 'cancelled']

also I have a severe concentration problem & so i have to write notes albeit a *normal* above average IQ (or so i think)

PS: i take no pride in stating that, in fact wish it was half that time and id creamed the papers with that
