what job are you looking to move into?

im looking for: entry level alternative inv analyst

Houston, you can just date any of the senior I-bankers here on this forum. Forget abt working. You have enough fame and buzz here.

chippp, i seriously doubt we have any senior anythings, maybe seniors in college and a few senior citizens

I have not started looking yet. I will be looking for Quant Research Analyst position in and around CT.

My friends tell me that it will require a big pay cut. I have not researched the salary structure for an entry level pos, but I am ready for that.

Where (location) would you be looking for your next job?
Close to where you are.
NY City
Chicago...

IS there any advantage of starting your first finance job @ NY city?

"you can only wish to be my boss :P"

You wish you had a chance to serve me!

shadefx--

I think you may be surprised to find some relatively experienced people on this forum, as compared to something like Vault. This is because of the experience requirement for the CFA Charter, or at least it should be. Then again, I don't think there are too many MDs on here either.

Good luck on the Alt Investment Analyst thing. You may also monitor Craigslist from time to time, it is very popular in the Bay Area and the quality of jobs that are posted on it has definitely gone up.

shadefx...I've been doing alternative investment analyst work for a pension fund. You may be more interested in working for a private equity firm but I'd be happy to try and answer any questions you might have.

I agree VOBA
I just like stirring things up here... to pass the time til the results

I don't plan to change. I enjoy what I do. I may find a way to do it differently, but essentially the same thing.

Based on the Sr Citizen comment- what is considered a senior citizen on this board?

We have people here from all age groups
I was just trying to tie in another senior group

jstewar6,
I have some basic questions, want me to ask them here in public or do you have an email I should contact?

Thanks

Equity Analysis, Investment Banking or Portfolio Management for me. Preferably:

Port. Mngmt
Analysis
Investment Banking.

Not quite ready for the rocking chair ;-)

I find the CFAI stats interesting re: the age of candidates. Seems the >50 are only about 1%. I would have thought this group would be a bit larger, if for no other reason than more mid-career changes.

jstewar

what are your qualifications and how did you go about finding such a position?
