What Score Necessary on Practice Exams?

Do any of you know what percentage a canidate should obtain on practice exams before sitting down for the Level I CFA? Please post it here- it will be helpful to all of us. Thanks.
 
I believe the consensus is 70+. I suppose it also depends onwhich mocks you are using.
 
From what I have heard, a canidate should achieve a higher score on the practice exams than the actual exam. The actual exam score needed is about 70 percent. I am using the Schweser practice exams and maybe I will also purchase the Stalla mock exams.

So 70% is what you think I need on the mock exams?
 
I used Stallas(just took L1) and thought that in many repsects the mocks were more difficult than the exam. My cousin who is a charterholder agrees. That being said, you will find varying opions on this board. Some people will say the mocks are much easier than the real thing. I think what is important is that you continually improve and try gain as much practice as possible. I learned more from doing mocks than the actual readings. However everyone is different in the way their minds learn. Believe me when I say this, you know more than you think you do, the test is not going to be as hard as you anticipate. You gain alot of confidence from doing the mocks which is what makes them invaluable. Stay calm, stay confident, show up and you will do fine. To answer your last question, I think that if you are consistently above 70 you will be ok. My cousin never even passed a mock and he now has the charter. Best of luck to you.

I just took L1 on June 5, so take anything I say with a grain of salt, I hope to be able to confirm to you my opinion about what is required to pass later this summer. I had Schweser Online and the books. The first full mock exam I took I printed from their online service and it was called it a 'cummulative exam'-- they had several you could download. I don't know if it was because I did this first or what, but this online exam seemed very challenging, maybe slightly harder than the book 6 exams. This first time through was pretty rough--my head was spinning and I felt like I blanked, and it freaked me out for the exam. Fortunately it was 1.5-2 mos. prior to the real thing, but I got only 58-59% correct, and went over the time. By the end of my studying I was approaching 80% on the book 6 exams and was finishing within the time limit and felt a lot more confident. One cool thing is that I just steadily and incrementally improved every week when I took another practice exam--it helped build confidence and the sense that I was actually accomplishing something. On the real thing, I recall feeling okay about things, but did have some trouble in FSA, again, there were more 2-in-1 questions than I got in the practice exams. One thing I remember is feeling very unsure of how I did on the practice exams until I graded them, I tended to do a bit better than it felt like, so perhaps that is true for the real thing too. I'm not sure if I passed, but I was getting 83-88 on my last couple of practice tests. I would recommend JKE, Schweser book 6, F.A.R., and Boston Society tests, in that order.
