what was the passing rate?

Keep in mind that anyone who has ,or is in last year of, undergrad can sit it and its only offered in english.

True, but also consider that it includes everyone that is taking it for a second or greater time as well.

I believe thats slightly higher than prior tests which where somewhere between 37-39%. I think December 06 was 39% actually.

Does somebody know the passing rate for people who did it for the first time?

I passed it also at the first time, so that's 2 people out of two = 100%

serious, does anybody know the passing rate for the first time?

I doubt that CFAI publish that sort of info.

I want to say I heard 25% somewhere, but it isn't really relevant. Many people who have employers pay for the exam sit and fail without putting in the time or effort. Obviously this creates an artificially high fail rate relative to the people who put in the time and effort.

Congrats to those who passed. I passed L1 on the 1st try, and took two shots at both L2 and L3 before completing the program and being awarded a charter.

Best of luck to all. For those going on to L2, your climb up CFA Mountain is only a small fraction of the way to the top.

Terrifying. Simply terrifying.

No it isn't. It's just a lot of time but I've seen so many people pass L1, L2 and L3 on their first try - as long as you are willing to study you'll be fine.

That counts for almost everyone. If you really studied hard, couldn't have done anything better and stilll fail then this simply isn't your cup of tea.

The hard thing is to find the time to do all the studying. That's where the low pass rates come from.
