What's up with all these motivation threads?

Why have there been so many threads about people who are lacking motivation/chronically depressed/emotionally discouraged over the past couple of weeks? Is this seasonal?

There are several reasons;

1) Winter in the east cost. Snow is everywhere and folks don't get a chance to do many things.

2) CFA studies take rest of your time left from long hours of work. Ask any candidate about the time period from March till exam. Lack of sleep, workout etc.

3) Market is bad and many folks feel they deserve to get better job, bonus or salary and these add to the overall frustration.

4) The quality of AF has gone down in the past few months and question like How do I move to Front office, MBA or CFA or CPA, IT to front office etc also add to the depression.

5) Beside the points mentioned above, people generally are not happy from their lives because of greed for more money, better job, better life style, partner etc.

End of rant

<3 Miami.

In case no one knew yet.

Maybe it's a good time for a psychiatrist to buy a small ad here on AF. That sh!tty Elan's "Passverance" Program has no future anyway so a brainfixer could use that space better.

I like Miami as well. If I didn't have a girl + roommates in NYC, I would live in Miami for 6 months and NYC for 6 months and sublet the other place while not in it.

pup,

you had it exactly until #5. always wanting better is why we get up in the morning.

Not if #3 leaves you with close to no hope, at least in the short term.

I wake up because I like to start my morning off with a latte, and because it's important to me to catch the first showing of SportsCenter

yeah but you just don't run after it. You make a plan in order to achieve it and take baby steps toward it.

I like to run right at it, more fun that way. :)

planning is for pu$$ies

It's darkest before the light, etc etc. If you're not getting what you want out of life, then you need to work harder at it. Don't get me wrong, I do my fair share of complaining, but eventually i lose whatever victim complex I'm hiding behind. The greatest thing about living in a free society is that ANYONE can create their own happiness with enough determination.

Too bad the U.S. is slowly creeping towards a society that discourages this kind of individual responsibility.

I thought it was darkest just before it goes totally black?

Yeah but then it wasn't darkest yet, because it got darker still, it would have to get lighter after being the darkEST.

Feeling low motivation today...

bloody humidity over in southeast asia is making everyone feel sluggish and depressed. so yes, i reckon it's seasonal.
