whats ur status ? did u start for l2 ?

Got my book in early Aug. Decided to study from September 1 and I did start. Have finished 3 complete readings of Econ in just 20 days!!! What speed!!! What motivation!!! I am sure I will be prepared to take even level 3 by June 2012!!!
(My next deadline to start properly is October 1)

Why are all of you guys starting so early? I bet 50% of you get tired of studying by Febuary, and forget a wealth of knowledge when you start back up in May.

@lxwarr30 , dude if u start in may .. u no need to sit fro exam for sure. l2 is not as easy as l1 . person ell experience , as a re taker .. pls start early and revise properly , more tiem is required for revision.

But how many months? At this rate it would be 9 months, I did 3 months for L1, I think I will do 6months for level 2. Does this sound appropriate, double the time?

it’s entirely dependent on how many hours you are able to sudy every week…and what your background is…and how you are in terms of memory/test taking abilities….

It’s too early to start now even if you are putting in 5-10 hours a week. I would wait til begining of January to start. Even then once you get to May you will still have a tough time remembering the material you studied then.

Taking l2 for second and last time.
Half way through quant.
Starting early cuz it’ll be easier to review material than to learn it early next year.
Review will also commit to memory.
Last year I started in Feb and ran outta time.

I started early for L1 (September) and completly burned out by Feb to the point that the thought of anything CFA related made me sick. Took me almost a month before I could get back to the library even. My advice for what it’s worth is not to start until at least November and shedule yourself two week long breaks (say one in Feb and one in April before the final push) to give youself time to digest this stuff.

For L1, I started in Dec (properly in Jan) and was burnt to death by mid April. After that I didn’t study at all. Just pushed myself to take some tests. Thankfully I had put in enough effort before to not hurt my performance in the exam.
I have heard L2 is much harder so want to finish a read latest by Feb, then take a month or two off and then revise. In case, it turns out to be harder than expected, I will have an extra month or two to make it up in…
