When can I start using the CFA designation?

Hello All,
I’ve just completed the payment of the annual membership dues and according to my profile (when I click on Membership), I am a member. Does that mean that I am a full-blown CFA charterholder or are there any other things to do/to wait for?

Wait for the local society approval: it happens every month, when they - the society board - meet and approve all new charterholders. According to speculation here on AF this should be on September 4th (or close to that, depending on your location). After that, you should see you your name with the desgination on the CFAI website…
 
You can use it when you log in to the CFAI website and see the letters next to your name.
 
My application was all approved beginning of this year. Now that i passed the level 3 and paid the dues, i am a member already and the 3 letters appear next to my name when i just now logged into CFAI website..super excited !!!!
