Is it okay to ask an interviewer where he got my resume from?

PS: I got a message from a buy side shop and am clueless how they got my resume.

Reasonable question, although I wouldn't phrase it like that in an interview.

"What was it about my resume that stood out to you?"

No other way to ask really, other than "where did you get my resume?"

Is there any chance you aapplied to a job there that was advertized in a blind posting?

You could e-mail in advance and ask them to forward you the copy of the job position that was advetised... say you can't find it. If they say there was no advert, then tell them you that was how they got your resume.. if not who passed it to them because you want to thank that person.

Or something along those lines.

did you put your resume on those HR agencies?

or save a copy on the website...

in Sydney, there's careerone where you can save your resume on it and
HR will contact you when they want to.
