Why the karma system is removed from analyst forum?

There were a few threads, at least on the L3 forum, on which the karma game got really out of control. Same thing happened on Water Cooler. Very few upvotes compared to downvotes, so the admins decided to scratch it. Personally, I thought the karma points were a good addition to the site.

It was a good addition, but some doofus went on a downvote spree and ruined it.
Maybe admins can cap how many up/downvotes each users have per day.

Up/Downvotes were awesome until the Great Downvote Battle Of July ‘19. Few, if any, survived without a scratch.
Even Somme and Verdun pale in comparison.
