Which Study Guide is better? Stalla or Schweser?

Most people recommend Stalla as the question is more like the actual exam. Any comments for those who have taken the level 1 exam?

I used Stalla to prepare for LI. I thought the mocks were much harder than the actual exam. But thats just me.

I just sat for Lvl I and used Schweser Notes --- Dunno about Stalla, but I have to say that Schweser was on point.

Schweser is what most people use. I bought the level I this year and got my buddies Level II and III. He passed all three on the first try.

However, he was able to study 8 hrs a day at work and extracurricular. So the content is there...just depends on study habits.

The best advice is to not have a job and live with your mother while studying. I wish I could have done that. :(

It's never too late....I got caught studying at work a few times...luckily she didn't care!

i used Stalla's noted for level 1. i thought they were very indept..covered everything. i was looking for soemthing with a different perspective and maybe a bit more consice..towards the last couple of weeks of the exam. i found a freebie in Financial Test Prep, from wehre i downloaded notes. they help! try googling it up.

The rumor is that schwesher is much more concise and their formulas are not as elegant(which is a plus). On the otherhand as I understand it, Stallas teaching of the financial statement analysis is superior to schweser. FSA is the most heavily weighted subject on the exam, and if you ask around the concensus would be that it is the hardest as well. I have only used stalla so take this with a grain of salt. Good Lock

Hi Smiley, whatever you do, make sure to check any source you can about the ACCURACY of the prep course material from users. I was looking for a prep program too, and was evaluating one particular program which looked pretty fancy- I googled it, came to this forum and read other sources and got feedback about it. Found that many reported this particular program I wanted, to be full of errors in their calculations and answer explanations.

Finally I got Schweser online instead. No regrets - one of the best features: you can email them for further questions on particular test problems without retyping the whole problem out. Replies to your questions come back to you about 24 - 48 hrs later. I am not sure whether this is a guarantee but so far I got replies just a day after I sent the questions. Pretty good. I'm not sure if you wanted and online program, but I would definitely recommend schweser online, if you like this fast response to questions feature.
