I thought that the Dec Level I test was much harder than anything I had seen previously - from Schweser, Stalla, or the local CFA chapter. I know that CFAI, for reasons known best to themselves, will not release the actual test. In hindsight, what test bank seems like the best match for what we saw on test day?

I'm amazed I passed. My personal theory is that CFAI threw out a bunch of the toughest questions - because everyone got them wrong - effectively lowering the bar considerably.

I felt that the Schweser Practice Exam Book (aka Book 7) was harder than the real thing. The questions were mostly conceptual-based with lots of 2 column questions just like the exam. I passed and scored above 70 in everything except Portfolio Management

I have the Schweser notes for the Level-1 exam. The exam practice book is book 6. Can you tell me what is this practice exam book-7 that you are talking about.

Thanks

The SAMPLE EXAM workbook is book 6. There's another book called 'PRACTICE EXAMS for the 2005 CFA Exam' which can be bought for $99 or as part of the basic package. I found Book 6 to be easier than Book 7.

Wow, that's pretty funny. I was about to write this exact post. We even got the same score!!

Congrats!

I would add: Don't waste money on the $50 CFA website exams. They primarily take their questions from the practice exams that they offer for free.

I would say they raised the bar, actually. There is no use in setting an easy test and having a pass rate of 80%. I prefer really low pass rates so the CFA is worth something.

I thought Schweser's Book 7 (test questions) were much tougher than the real exam...although the real exam itslef was tough in its own way, in terms of the 2 column and 3 column questions. The real estate questions themselves were very tricky too..nonetheless having cleared Level 1 feels good...hopefully it will return a high ROA in the future...

Also any thoughts on when to enroll for level2 whether right away or June 2007, what are the pros and cons...

Thanks
