Hi everyone, I am thinking about using both Schweser and the curriculum for the lv2 next year and I just wonder which topics I should study from CFA books and which ones I should study from Schweser? I just don’t want to waste my time on reading certain topics from CFA books that are well-covered Schwesers. Any thought?

Good approach for me (NB. I obviously haven’t passed LII yet so take with a grain of salt) has been to:
  1. Use Schweser for an initial pass of the readings, taking notes as I go
  2. Any sections that don’t make complete sense (this happened a lot in FRA) revert to CFAI
  3. At the end of a reading, review all of the CFAI BB examples
  4. Complete the EOC questions from Schweser then CFAI
  5. Review performance, if there are any significant knowledge gaps read the relevant sections in CFAI text.
The standard ‘study Ethics from CFAI’ probably still applies here, and is what I’ve done.
Good luck

Use the curriculum for Reference, for confirmation of each LOS Statement, for clarification of anything you couldn’t understand in other study material and for:
(1) Blue Box Questions
(2) End of Chapter Questions

You should unquestionable study Ethics from the curriculum. CFA Institute does a much better job than the prep providers.
