After the exam, I went straight to a bar for couple of beers. Watched the yanks/sox game on TV, left when some f-tard redsox fan cheered as Dougie got kneed in the head. Then it was a bottle of Soju over korean BBQ. Then went barhopping and drank till all my money's gone.

How did everyone else celebrate?

In hindsight Joey was right (once again).

Tried really hard to go to a bar, actually managed to do so and after three beers I was completely wasted. By 11pm I was knocked out and back in bed.

After the exam, I went and had dinner at TGIF, and then saw Pirates of the Caribbean: The World's End, from 9 pm till midnight ....man... if you think the afternoon session of the level I exam was complicated, you should go see that movie...I came home completely dizzy and with a headache (and all these without a single drop of beer/alcohol..like I said...just go see the movie)......

soju and korean barbecue sounds freaking awesome. i have a newborn daughter, 10 days old now, so i came home and hung out with her. i know that sounds boring, but it is so much fun.. yes, i am officially old.

haha, but nailing this exam when having to study as a dad of a 10-year-old... You're the MAN!

An old man, to be exact ;-)

i wish i nailed it mcpass. but the afternoon session was disheartening to say the least..

Celebrate.......more like drown my sorrows....

6 Corona's and a chimichanga was my medicine.

Well have a thread on July 25th named 'RESULS ARE OUT, I PASSED!!!' or something similar and we will both be in it.

Trust me, we've built quite of a buffer in the morning session with 75+ and there's no way we scored below 60 in the afternoon.

That should do the trick.

i hope so, my friend. i should have done ok on the morning session outside of econ.

wait..that would bring the average to 67.5%, is that good enough? I was under the impression that if we score below 70% combined, we are doomed for sure!

Nope. 70% is a guaranteed pass. CFA has a whole PDF on the website explaining how the minimum passing score is calculated since 199x and the results are pretty much the same as in the 80s. In the 80s they used 70% of the top 10% which resulted somewhere in the range of 63 - 67%.

So 70% is a definite pass, everything close to it will be a pass as well but below 65% you're in trouble.

it's always a question to debate.. and noone knows for sure.. but a 70 seems like a guaranteed pass and slightly below that seems to be the real line.. all speculation on my part..

Yep. I wish CFA would announce what the real pass rate is but it's all part of the game. Scoring 70% is a pass so that has been my goal all along. Being borderline has never been one of my hobbies.

Congratulation! You are not boring. I went home after a short snack sponsored by Stalla, to see my 3-year-old boy. You must be difficult to handle the exam as your child is just delivered before the exam. By the way, I am waiting for the delivery of my second child.

Drinking until 1:30 - 2AM, and then the sunrise woke me up (as it always does) at 4: 30 / 5 AM. Maybe I'll get a nap today (my first weekend nap since I started this CFA thing!).

congrats on your upcoming second! i missed a few days studying, but i would not have traded that experience for anything! let's hope for a pass now because it will be difficult to study going forward.

I'm REALLY hungover. This sucks. A buddy of mine also took the exam so we hit up the bars afterwards in full force. I had to have spent $100. Damn it.

I drove two hours to take my exam - don't ask long story - so by the time I got home, I half asleep. I got a little...ummmm, kiss....from the girlfriend to relieve the stress and I was asleep 30 seconds later.

bannisja,

curious to hear what you thought about the test. the consensus thus far has been 1. pm kills a lot of the confidence from am, going from a sure pass to a possible.. 2. econ sucked. where is my man ilvino? curious to see what he thought as well.
