Nah, started with equity first….so not so fantastic. But at least Ive started I guess.
Hard to get my motivation back.
After passing L1 I was all about gearing up for L2, now Im just sort of “meh” about it all.
My head-start plan for CFA L2 2012
Master the following subjects by year-end:
Quantitative Methods - November 21st - December 4th
Equity - December 5th - December 18
Ethics - December 18 - January 1st
Just finishing Corporate Finance - got it under control. Have been through FRA but will revisit all the questions in the CFAI text again. Have skimmed through Ethics and Economics. Not looking forward to Equity, Deriv, Fixed inc. …….
Cheers
Good job guys, to be honest though, burnout’s really gonna rear it’s ugly head if you start this early. It may be smart to plan ahead and schedule a short vacation to take some time off after your first read through to refresh yourself before you begin review. It’s VERY important to be peaking at exam time and not be getting burnt out and sloppy.
Finished most of Quant since it was in the FRM syllabus. I think its better to start early and finish early. I don’t think I will burn out, since the whole process is so mechanical ( read Schweser, do questions, skim core, do questions ). Its like a daily, boring, routine for me, until the first reading is over.

I’ll be starting next week, trying to cool my brain off after sitting Part 1 & 2 FRM a week ago. Also want to wait for the videos to arrive from Schweser, for those who are interested I asked and Schweser said they’ll be in stock on Wednesday (Happy St Andrew’s) and ship then.
