It’s like you are given a Big Mac, but you rather not eat the Big Mac and purchase a cheese burger instead.

cuz we got jobs playa and dont got time to read 3500 pages in 5 months

Shorter is worlds different from dumbed down. Take it from someone who used to write CFA study guides for Stalla.
And your answer to my question is, coincidentally, the answer to your (original) question.

what if you don’t have enough time to eat the bic mac but you still need to eat?

And you’ll be beaten senseless if you don’t finish what you start.
(Otherwise the analogy falls apart: you could eat half the Big Mac and throw the other half away.)

So are you guy suggesting that third party has a better time/pass-rate ratio? A candidate has more chance of pass using third party material than using CFAI’s material given the same limited short time?
If time is not an issue because the candidate is well organised and starts early, and which one should he choose?

What do you care about what other people read and do? If you don’t trust third party material, then stick with the stuff CFAI sent you. Problem solved.

Time is usually not an issue if you have no job. Most people who are organized and start early still consider time an issue. For you though, I suggest you go with the CFAI material, you sound like you can handle it. Don’t purchase any third party material…no q banks or extra practice exams. CFAI all the way, youve earned it.

I, for one, used “dumb down third party materials”. Why, you ask?
Because it worked.
Blessed are those who can study CFA material and pass, for they shall keep ther $995, albeit at the expense of many many hours of study time.

But what if you have a real passion for finance? You’re not here just to pass CFA, you want to learn as much about finance as possible.
