In my point of view why every one is saying that exam was easy and why everyone finished it before time.......

1) sample of analystforum is surely not representatitive of thousands of students who appeared in exam and thats why our opinion suffers from sampling bias :) :) normally the people here are well prepared and fully charged up for the exam. Otherwise it was not that simple for people with only 2 weeks of study.

2) why we finished it early? because length of the questions was not long. normally subjective questions took only two lines and ethics were also not typical case studies like schweser or stalla.

3) there were only 3 choices instead of four.................it means there were 240 less lines to be read compared to earlier exams............If on average you take 30 seconds to read the question and next 60 sections to read and concentrate on choices, typically you spend 15 seconds on each choice. So having one less choice we got (15seconds x 240 qustions)/60 = 60 minutes extra compared to previous exam takers... which i liked :) :)

this is my analysis why we AnalystForumers found exam easy..........

what you guys think about it???

Corrections:

60 sections to be read as 60 seconds in point 3.

appologies.

Its been mentioned many times how this sample size is an unfair representation, which it is. On average someone from AF has been force fed questions from Damil4real for so long that you become accustomed to solving the more tricky/aggressive problems. A lot of people i talked to outside this forum had troubles with the exam, but L1 is just about putting in the time. I also found it easy.

Def easier than Dec 08. Maybe because I spent more time studying and also there were also 3 choices. I definitely missed about 40 definitely

make your check payable to Damil4real cause that man (or woman?) deserves to GET PAID!!

Seriously, thank-you.

@farrukh - comment #3 is particularly interesting.

The elimination of one choice could very well serve as a time saver b/c you're not reading junk. However, I thought the exam was exceptionally well written and for a few questions I still found myself eliminating one completely wrong answer and dancing around with the other two. These folks are not messing around - you have to know your stuff backwards and forwards and FAST! Having three choices instead of four is only a marginal benefit, but I'll take it!

Check payable to me sounds good!

Funny thing happened when I opened my exam packet on Saturday. Morning session - FRA section, I swear I saw about 4-5 questions that resembled similar questions I had posted on here. Man, I could have screamed! I just hope I didn't mistakenly picked the wrong answers because I was really excited seeing those questions!

Now, let's hope we all pass that freakin' L1 and move on to dominate that L2 forum.

Damil4real you were really helpful with all the questions you posted. I definitely learned a few things on there for sure. So thank you. Do you accept post-dated checks?

Well raw, to accept your post-dated check, which I think is a form of "additional compensation," I'll have to get written approval from my compliance department!

I'm glad you learned a few things on AF. I defintely learned a lot as well. Now, it's time to pray that we all passed and move on together to the next level. This is the class of 2009 and we rocked L1 forum for sure.

I thought I noticed that as well- not that I was complaining.

Does anyone remember the what happens to price of a call bond compared to a option free bond when rates rise? I'm almost positive the exam question had it word for word.

Price will not drop as much as an option free bond. Callable and puttable bonds have less volatility than their option free cousins.

Exactly. I got it correct on the mock, so I better have gotten it correct on the real exam!

Booya! That was word for word from the mock exam.

Yes! There were indeed a few questions I swear I've seen before!
