Will employer be informed?

I just registered for Level 1 on the CFAI homepage. I don’t want to inform my employer about my registration at present. Why did I have to add my employer’s name and address? Will my employer be contacted in any way?
 
nope,in fact they might never be informed, even if you apply for a charter and use the work there as eligible work experience, unless you get audited. Good luck on your exam!
 
When I received the letter confirming that my charter had been awarded, they also added a letter which I could use to inform my employer of my achievement. This goes to say that it is the candidates’ responsibility to inform their employer.

It’s possible your could begin receiving solicitations from some of the study guide providers (Schweser, Stalla, etc). Although I recall there being an option to pick which address you prefer your mail sent to (business or home).
 
Yeah, seriously. I gave my work address to CFAI. Afterwards, I got spam from Schweser/Stalla. CFAI fucking sold my address.

It is the duty of the candidate to inform their employer only to the degree that that the candidate’s actions will be subject to CFAI’s standards of practice. If your employer doesn’t violate any CFAI guidelines and doesn’t require you to violate CFAI guidelines, there is nothing to inform them about.
 
Why are you so concerned that your employer finds out you are registered to take Level 1? Unless you are currently in a total un-related industry, otherwise, there is no harm that your employer find out.
 
no they don’t notify your employer, but eventually if you pass L3 and want to be a charterholder, you will need a reference from them
