Work Experience Audit

My friend is an auditor for a big four firm. He is also a Level 3 candidate.
Anyone here have any luck getting that work experience through CFAI? I am concerned that they will ding him.

Some guy on AF claimed that he got audit experience approved. I think it is contingent on how good you are at telling stories.

Just use the phrase ”decision making” over and over again.

Here is an “acceptable” description from the CFAI website. I don’t understand why anyone would not use these exact words.

“Auditor: I performed financial statement audits of companies that carried significant assets and liabilities subject to fair value accounting. I assessed the reasonableness of the valuations and assumptions behind the valuations of those assets and liabilities.”

That’s true. That is exactly what an auditor would do, and if the CFAI doesn’t accept it…well then CFAI just shot it’s own foot. lol

How about Accounting experience not specifically related to auditing?

If you can seriously pull off how accounting contributes to an investment decision, then maybe. Unless the PM was seeking to make some accounting profits/returns rather than real returns…like something’s cooking.
