I should probably be posting this on a medical forum but whatever. Been studying for the CFA level 1 and my preferred method for retaining information is writing stuff down. Write down ALL the formulas! Write down ALL the definitions! it works pretty well except for the sharp pains that have started to occur about a week ago. I get these really severe pains in my palms and wrists and now it happens every time i start writing. I’ve read that excessive writing and typing (which i do alot of for work) are two of the main causes of repetitive strain disorder and i would seriously like to avoid getting that any time soon.
Any one been experiencing the same thing? Any excercises or recommendations to avoid prematurely developing old lady fingers? Thanks

What’s RSD? Similar to Carpal Tunnel? I’ve had wrists but doesn’t sound as severe as yours. For me, I guess it could’ve been the result of using mouse all the time.

RSD is similar to carpal tunnel but i think latter is more of a hereditary condition and the former is caused by repeatedly overdoing the same motion with your hands/fingers/wrists, which will also trigger carpal tunnel symptoms for people who are predisposed to it. Excsessive mouse clicking can trigger it too.
