Write out formulas?

For the morning session are we supposed to write out any necessary formulas or can we just jump right into the calculation and show our work with actual numbers. It seems like writing the formula would be good to show you know it, but on the other hand I’m trying to find places to save on time.

Write the formulas - don’t have to explain each symbol if you use notation from CFAI texts. Graders wouldn’t know where numbers came from if a few of them were the same (e.g. 5% real return and 5% inflation.)
