The 6 books are the equivalant of 4 of L2 in terms of weight and # of pages. This makes me very happy!

I just passed it, and IMO Level 3 is easier than Level 2. My colleague who sits next to me said the same thing when he took it in 2006.
Some will say differently, but for me, to not see FRA & Quant made everything happier.
It was the only one of the 3 tests where I walked into the exam room feeling confident.

And wading through emotional and cognitive biases.

and the feeling of: wow this is so easy! there’s almost no calcs and it’s all plain english. yay!
and then you take the practice tests and get all confused on which bias to use because they all seem to fit in some way or form, and then watch as your self confidence gets shot down and reduced to 0.

lol you guys are so mean! Let him feel happy about the L3 material at least for some days!
pokhim, as you might notice, less weight doesn’t mean less work. You’d rather check out the preparation strategies posted under the “I failed, what to do differently?”-type threads.

The material in L3 is easier than in L2. The problem is that it works in a different part of your brain and knowing the correct answer isn’t always enough.

L3 is a joke. Just memorize the books and write sh!t like large investable asset base relative to expenses and you’ll be mint.

That works for art history exams.

Not when my mom was teaching art history: if you didn’t know the period, artist, style, and important features of each painting, drawing, sculpture, or whatever, you failed.

My teacher in high school graded like that. I made an F ever single time (but she let me resubmit with the correct info for a max of a B or C, don’t remember).
For the advanced placement exam for college credit, what the class was preparing us for, I went in and made one of the highest scores in the class (4 out of 5, I think) due to studying key words and language instead :P

I thought the L3 material was much easier to read thru than L2 but once I started taking the practice tests I found myself having to do more review than L2 to figure out what kind of answer they wanted. The short answer format leaves much more room for error in getting to the correct answer.

i do think the volume of L3 is a bit more managable, and one thing for sure, the topics in L3 are more integrated and related which makes retaining information a lot easier.
Having said that the material itself is not necessarily easier (i don’t think L2 is difficult topic by topic, it’s just A LOT of them), so try not to underestimate it is what i can say.
