level 3 advice

I’m quite certain that all licensing agreements for the use of on-demand CFA Level III videos include a provision that the purchaser will not allow others to use the videos.
Surely you’re not asking any of the candidates to commit an Ethics violation, are you?

Just read the curriculum. They send you 6 books and everything you need is in there. You’ve got almost an entire year to study.

But the books dont come out until September/October especially Schweser and the onDemand vidoes in late November, which leaves me only 5 months to study which isnt enough. I plan to study in late July once results are out - any advice how or where I can begin from. Thanks!

There is no ethics violation with regards to viewing on-demand CFA vidoes from other candidates, with reference to Standard VII.

You seem to be missing a month, even just counting whole months, there are 6 between late November and start of June (Dec, Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May)…

I’m not suggesting that you’re committing an Ethics violation.
I’m suggesting that you’re asking other candidates to commit an Ethics violation.
In short: if you want access to videos, you need to pay for that access. You need to pay the owner of those videos.

I wont have time in December as I will be away for most of the month hence the reason I said I have 5 months from that time. And hence the reason I am asking if there is another way to start from late July.

Theft is an ethics violation as it points to your character and trustworthness, by allowing access to the videos in violation of a legally binding contract as part of the terms of purchase you are commiting theft and therefore committing an ethics violation. (I believe this also counts all resales and lending of revision material to third parties as ethics violations, so I don’t believe it is strictly enforced…)

Make sure you spend a lot of time on Ethics.
I will give you my Private Jet for a couple of weeks if you give me access to the videos.

Even that is not an ethics violiation, no where does it mention that is a violation in the standards.
Moreover, money is not the issue with me. I would pay for the vidoes but access is suspended from 30 June hence the reason I am asking if there is another way I can view them for longer.

Sigh.
Breaking a contractual agreement is an Ethics violation.
Surely you’ve learned this at Levels I and II.
