Hi,

I trying for the certification in Financial Analyst.
Actually I don't have a college degree and most of the big investemnt compnies
look for tertiary degree.
I don't know how to apply them. they ask for college record also in online application.
It will be very helpful if somebody guides me how to devise good strategy.

Thank You.

Entrance requirements to the CFA Program is "Have a U.S. bachelors (or equivalent) degree, be in the final year of your bachelor's degree program, or have four years of qualified, professional work experience or a combination of work and college experience that totals at least four years."

Somehow it seems that the US bachelor's degree might be more easily accessible than >4 years of qualified work experience as the latter might prove to be a Catch 22. I assume the latter to be why you ask this question about advice on your job search.

You write, nverge, that you don't have a college degree but such a degree seems to be a prerequisite for being admitted to the program. I've browsed all your posts, most of them from January this year, and I assume you have some good reason or other as to why you haven't been able to get a degree so far. Pity you lost your admittance to that school in Helsinki btw. Have you looked up the possibilities to access some sort of adult education to get a bachelor's degree? I'm not from the US nor have much experience in US education but I do knowsuch degree's are availabe: http://www.spfldcol.edu/home.nsf/academics/weekend. You might also want check out an old thread posted by Bullmarket on December 8, 2003, on the subject of acquiring an affordable MBA, bachelor's degree or equivalent.

I don't wanna remember HSE episode.
I fought that matter with government and toop up yo the UN.
I lost it there.

Now I am in India and scenario seems just hard.
I hope that in all above if knowledge matters I will prove mighty.

Anyway thanks

??? Not to seem rude, but nverge I think you might be in over your head. In this field you have to attain the basics to proceed. In India, it might me a little lax in it's hiring, but as you stated in your post, you are required to get a BA. the "Chartered Financial Analyst" designation (it's a charter not a certification...big difference) is graduate level finance and accounting material.

I think you need to re-evaluate your position and probably stick with your current job.

I might become a poet.
what is your stand buddy.
I have exam on 25th july.

I will discuss this matter thoroghly after that.
Meanwhile all great brains just a question for research.
Does all the economics principles like reversion to mean and
cash flow analysis models are applicable to life also.
I mean it's about philosophy.
Most of the time we prdict that it is certain to happen.
it turn out other side.

Well all should think philosophically at this point.

I have to admit that i am betting against odd.

I thought i will get some intuitional views.

Sorry, I regret posting this matter here.

No, it's ok to post here. You should read the book "Fooled by randomness", it will most certainly interest you, nverge. You are dedicated, that's a good thing, a prerequisite for this exam. Whether you are in over your head or not remains to be seen, but one thing is certain and that is your having more hurdles to overcome than most of us.
