Still waiting on work experience approval from society...

For those in Boston, just spoke to the BSAS who said that their next meeting is around 9/12/13 so if you’re waiting to get approved, like myself, that is when you can expect to get approved (*hopefully).
What society approved you same day Babsfrey?
 
Just paid for my local society and status turned to approve right after paying it. However, under number of months it shows zero, but for CFAI, it shows 49 months approved out of 61 submitted.
Just waiting for email that says go ahead and start using your charter.

Wait…
I thought we were supposed to get approved by CFAI and local society and then pay? Are we supposed to pay before hand? Does anybody know how the process works? Do we get an email saying we’re all set, and to pay? or is it something we should just do from now until we get appoved?
 
@mk514 Man, there is no button to push to pay the fee, you can’t pay until you are approved
 
You get an e-mail right after it’s approved by local society. I checked at about 10am this morning, was still pending local society approval. Then bam, I got an e-mail at 1:30pm, APPROVED. You click the link, pay your dues and you’re a regular member. Easy peasy.
Unless you have finicky e-mail, I wouldn’t stress over checking back all the time like I did. The e-mail comes right away.
 
emailed nyssa earlier and 10 minutes later they sent me a doc to fill out with cc info. once they get your payment they tell the cfai to send you an invoice…

Hey igor, when nyssa approved your membership?
 
Once the local society review countdown hits zero, their time is up. Email CFAI and tell them that the ‘local society review’ countdown has hit zero days and that you still haven’t heard anything from the local society. From here, CFAI assumes no news is good news and automatically approves your application. You will eventually hear from your local society asking for you to sign up with them… My local society is still waiting to hear back from me :-)

online it still says “pending” but once i fill out the form and send them payment i should be good
 
@ Igor… I guess I wasn’t clear… I meant did you email NYSSA and get approved your work experience yesterday or that happened earlier like on Aug 3?
 
Submitted my application on August 8th - still in work experience review status, haven’t received an email asking for more info or clarity. This is getting annoying….
