Regardless of the difficulty of the exam,CFAI will not pass more than 37-38% of the test takers. So just chill and relax!!!!!!

Actually i never worry about the exam after, as soon as i walk out i feel so relieved that i don’t care if i pass or fail.
Sometimes i feel that walking into the exam room as well, i just want the whole thing to be over!

but i stress very little over things out of my control. perhaps you can take comfort that the trouble is out of your hands and just watch what happens like a movie?

I really don’t think this is the case.It is a mere coincidence that the passrate has been around 30-40% in the last few years. This is because of the large number of students turning up for this exam.If this was to be true, then I am sure CFAI would have uploaded these facts in their website. They clearly mention in their website that MPS is set up by their Board of Governors by looking at the difficulty level of the question paper. It is no where mentioned that student’s performance are checked in order to come up with the MPS.I think the Board is competant enough to themself decide what should be the cut off marks.Everyone who crosses this marks will definitely pass no matter whether they are 30% or 80% of the overall students.

@nishcool:with all due respect……..you are speaking useless things…It cannot be a “mere coincidence” that pass rates has been a constant @36%-38% range for years.May be the MPS is set so as to allow only 37% to pass!~!!!!

@Rahul Roy …. I am not sure Board of Governors will ever admit to what you are saying. But saying that, personally I doubt it. I tend to agree with Niscool.

I am sure CFAI will not set a MPS which will allow 80% of takers to pass the exam.

Agreed… Statistically No of SMART Applicants do NOT increase by 100% just in one year.

It goes both way, to me it seems very hard to believe that the level of the candidates deciding to pass this exam would be that constant every year. Especially when you take in account business cycles where some people will try to get more notches to their belts in case they would get redundant … etc

@rahul roy……….Its obvious to see that if the MPS is being around 65-70% in the recent years and 35-40% are being able to achieve it,then only these many number of students pass the Level 1 exam(common sense)!!..What you are trying to say is that if a large percentage of students score above 70% then they won’t pass all of them even if they are in the top most zone just to keep that 35-40 % zone?????…..Just think dude…!!…Then there will be no point giving this exam if you are failing even after scoring 70+ in every topic…!!Its straightforward….35-40% of the students repeatedly are falling in the same zone (above the MPS).They just can’t fail any candidate if he/she has performed in the top most zone……Whether they are 30 % or 80 %(Though 80% is very rare I accept)….:D

LOL………Do you seriously think that CFAI will prepare such a question paper which would allow 70% of takers to get 70% and above…….????????????Dude just relax!!!!!CFA is not going to dilute its “BRAND”.I say it again MPS will be such that no more than 40% will pass the exam this year……..I am ready to bet on it!!!!!

@Rahul Roy:Bro I am not saying that 70% will pass this year…..I am with you that maximum 40% will pass this year…..But this is not the fault of CFA….Its just because only that many number of students will clear…Rest won’t be able to make it……I am just saying that student’s performance is not related with MPS according to me….Its an independent process adopted by its Board……The pass rate will still remain 40 %…….Agreed…….
